Why god cares

It is not surprising, therefore, that God is concerned about what happens to the earth. He is not going to give up on it because of the introduction of sin. He will not allow Satan to have the final word.

Spiritual things seem to be all that matter. While they live in this world, they forget to thank God for what he has made and how he sustains it. They assert a belief in the physical resurrection, but they do not ask where physical bodies will live if not in a renewed physical earth.

Their focus seems more on heaven than on the biblical agenda of new heavens and a new earth. It is too easy to reduce the gospel to be a story about how Christians get into heaven. Of course, there is nothing wrong with proclaiming the way to heaven. Indeed, it is essential.

But if that is all we say, we are leaving out a significant part of the biblical drama. God is one day going to renew the universe. His commitment to what he has made is mind-blowing. God created humans in his image, to be those who would have dominion over the earth. The reason God did this is that he cares for his creation. He does not take this physical world for granted. He created us to value the buildings we inhabit, the gardens we tend, the food we eat, the garbage collector who collects our trash every Tuesday night.

His image bearers care for the world he created. Human society is interdependent, and Christians should value this because we know the one who created it all and is committed to it all.

In our prayers at church, how often do we give thanks for those who labor in the mundane jobs that keep society going? But, when we trust that God will provide the next meal, we are ready to fly. We break out of molds. We rise up from our nest.

We approach the edge of our safety and we jump out to dance in the air of providence. We hear it rise to its heights. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land.

For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John What I want to do is run, jump and fly with God to the places he has set to take me.

Care to join me? Kelly, a fun-loving, active and spunky mom of two rambunctious toddlers, spends her days pushing swings, changing diapers and pursuing the Lord with all her heart. Called a "Cheerleader of Faith", Kelly's greatest desire is to help women live passionately, purposefully and unencumbered for the Lord.

Thankfully God has put your blog in my path. I am at a crossroads in my life and it will change the lives of my husband and my 13 year old son. I have prayed many prayers and my family is stressing out. I keep waiting on the Lord to direct me.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. God cares about you. He cares about your job; He cares about your fears; He cares about your spouse; He cares about your children; He cares about your parents; He cares about your worries; He cares about your finances; He cares about your car and your house; He also cares about your character, and He cares about you caring about Him and caring for others.

He is a caring God. You cannot out-care God. His capacity to care is infinite and his competence to care is matchless. You can care because He cares. There is no care of yours that God does not care about. If it is important to you, then God cares about it.

He cares enough to bear your anxieties and to replace them with His peace and assurance. When you give God your worries, you in turn, receive His calming presence. God transforms your cares into what He cares about; so cast your cares on Christ. Equally spiritual people may cast their cares on God in polar opposite ways. One may find release in a quiet written prayer, while another may feel cared for by God through raucous worship.

You know God cares immensely. So how do you cast your cares on Him? By faith, you let Him care. He cares and can be trusted. Therefore, allow Him to do what He does best. You allow Him to care for you. This takes humility on your part. You are acknowledging a desperate need for God. Your declaration of dependence is two-fold.

Secondly, you submit to the fact that only God can handle this level of concern.
